Element Management System
With SOMA Networks’ FlexMAX Element Management System (EMS), service providers gain a powerful tool that allows them to manage their FlexMAX Mobile WiMAX Systems down to the subscriber level.
The FlexMAX EMS consists of both a PC/Linux J2EE web server and a web client:
- The server is deployed in a redundant pair to support recovery and uses SNMP and SSH to communicate directly with SOMA devices.
- The web client is designed to work with popular browsers and displays a network view of FlexMAX base stations, mobile stations, home agent servers and authentication servers.
Using the FlexMAX EMS, service providers can monitor every network element of the FlexMAX Mobile WiMAX System, including base stations, mobile stations (customer premises equipment) and core servers. This real-time capability enables them to optimize delivery of broadband services, respond more quickly to network changes, and ensure higher subscriber satisfaction.
The FlexMAX EMS also enables service providers to customize element configurations and automate element backup and restore. By leveraging these and other enhanced network management capabilities, service providers can:
- Pinpoint network problems through the real-time network display
- Monitor network element inventory and status in real time
- Back up and restore network element image and configuration files
- Perform remote upgrades of network elements and mobile stations
- Collect network element logs
- Consolidate network element statistics.
By taking advantage of the FlexMAX EMS, service providers gain unprecedented control over their FlexMAX Mobile WiMAX Systems, ensuring network efficiency and subscriber satisfaction.
