Wireless Broadband Company Continues to Build Impressive Sales
Management Team
San Francisco, March 19, 2002 - SOMA Networks today announced that Jeff L. Hansen has joined the company as Vice President, U.S. and Canada Markets. A telecommunications industry veteran with more than a decade of senior-level sales experience at Nortel Networks, Hansen is responsible for managing all U.S. and Canadian sales of SOMA Networks’ “broadband anytime, anywhere” system, which delivers carrier-grade voice, multi-megabit data, and multimedia services to the residential and small-office market.
“As our commercial operations continue to expand around the globe, we are fortunate that Jeff, with his proven track record of successfully collaborating with customers and skillfully managing multiple sales units, has come aboard as a key leader of our sales team,” said Greg Caltabiano, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Markets. “Having worked with a wide variety of carriers, Jeff is superbly suited to head our sales efforts in the United States and Canada, two of our most important markets.”
“With non-line-of-sight access, customer self-installing equipment, large cell radiuses, and the ability to offer top quality voice, broadband Internet access, and advanced multimedia services, SOMA Networks has developed a comprehensive wireless broadband solution that dramatically improves the economics of delivering telecommunication services to the residence and small office,” said Hansen. “I am excited about my new role demonstrating to service providers how the SOMA system directly addresses their need to maximize revenues while at the same time reduce their costs.”
Since 1990, Hansen has worked with numerous telecom customers – including Verizon Communications, McCaw/AT&T Wireless, Airtouch Cellular, and Pacific Bell Mobile Systems – selling both wireless and wireline products. He most recently served as Nortel’s Vice President of Sales, managing a variety of sales teams and building relationships with key customers. Hansen also worked in infrastructure sales at Ericsson Radio Systems and in software training and technical support at Cnet, Inc.
Hansen has an M.B.A. in Telecommunications Management from the University of Dallas and graduated cum laude with a B.S. in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
